  • Rose Hall is located at 19 Church Street Cortland, NY 13045. The venue is one of downtown Cortland’s historic buildings, just a few minutes walk down the block from the Main Street business district. We invite you to arrive early and check out one of the many great bars and restaurants Cortland has to offer before the show!

  • You have your choice!

    (1) Free street parking on Church Street or Central Ave

    (2) The small parking lot across the street from the front entrance (on the NW corner of Central and Church) as long as it is after 6pm Mon-Fri or on weekends

    (3) The Cortland County office building parking lot on the corner of Central Ave and Greenbush (as long as it is after 6pm Mon-Fri or on weekends)

    Please avoid blocking the bus stop or the Presbyterian Church lot on Central Ave or you may be ticketed and/or towed

  • Tickets for Rose Hall are often available online in advance through our ticketing partner TicketWeb. If the show is not sold out, tickets may also be purchased at the door.

    Tickets purchased in advance may carry a small processing fee but they will usually cost less than tickets purchased at the door. And you’ll make sure you get in! Most shows are general admission and seating is first-come-first-serve unless indicated otherwise.

  • Yes! Our ADA entrance is o the south side (Central Ave side) of the building and there are ADA parking spots reserved on both sides of the building. For shows on the 2nd floor, there is an elevator available.

  • We have beer, wine, hard seltzer/cider, and an assortment of soft drinks available for purchase in concessions at most events.

    Food items are limited to small snacks so we encourage you to visit one of Cortland’s many great food spots a short walk away on Main Street before or after the show!

  • Our 1st floor listening room has a capacity of approximately 100 people for fully seated shows and 130 for standing room only. The music hall on the 2nd floor has a 482 person max capacity.

  • Nope, we’re a music venue! The First Baptist Church moved out at the turn of the century and we’ve been hosting music here ever since. Read more about the history of the building here.

 Rose Hall Studio FAQs

  • We offer a state-of-the-art space to suit different needs, including:

    • Rehearsal: Perfect for band rehearsals, solo practice, and group sessions.

    • Studio Production: Fully equipped for recording, mixing, and album production.

    • Music Lessons: Designed for quiet, uninterrupted instruction. Available for select instruments, provided by a hand-picked roster of local and regional teachers.

  • Once your application is accepted, you can easily book a space through our online booking system. There you’ll simply choose your desired room, date, and time, and make the reservation. To get started, please fill out the application form on the Rose Hall Studio Page.

  • Rates vary depending on the type of space and the duration of your booking. Discounts are available for long-term bookings or bulk sessions. Contact us for more detailed pricing information.

  • Technically, no. We provide them for free! We backline most of the necessary gear for groups to rehearse with a variety of instruments and equipment that includes:

    • Drum Kits

    • Pianos

    • Bass Cabinets

    • Guitar Amplifiers

    • Microphones

    • PA Systems (Mixers/Monitors)

  • Absolutely! You're welcome to bring your own instruments, amplifiers, or recording gear.

  • All payments are made securely online via credit card or PayPal. Full payment is due at the time of booking and we offer a flexible cancellation policy.

  • Hours of operation vary depending on the type of booking. We offer after-hours and weekend sessions upon request, based on availability.

  • Yes! We offer discounts for bulk bookings (e.g., booking a full week or multiple sessions). We also offer special rates for students, non-profits, and long-term rental agreements. Get in touch with us for more information on packages and promotions.

  • Yes, we work with some of the best sound engineers and producers in the area who can assist you with recording, mixing, mastering, and/or producing your music. Please inquire in advance to discuss your project.

  • For a recording session, we recommend bringing:

    • Your instruments and gear

    • Any sheet music or digital files for your songs

    • Personal headphones (optional but recommended)

    • A list of recording preferences or special requests. Our team will work with you and do our best to provide any additional equipment you may need.

  • Yes, our studios can be used for music video shoots! We offer versatile spaces that can be customized for capturing high-quality content. Please contact us for more details and to discuss your specific needs.

  • Yes! Our 1st-floor performance space is a great live room for full band rehearsals and recordings. We can comfortably accommodate up to 5-6 musicians on the stage and many more if spread throughout the space, with all the necessary gear for a full band PA setup.

  • We take your safety and the safety of our staff seriously. Our 1st-floor studio is equipped with a fresh-air intake ventilation system with UV purification, fire alarms, multiple emergency exits, and basic first aid kits. We also clean and sanitize our equipment and spaces regularly to ensure a safe and healthy environment.

  • Yes! We occasionally host community events, workshops, and jam sessions where musicians can connect and collaborate. Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for updates on upcoming events.

  • You can cancel or reschedule a rehearsal space booking up to 24 hours before the scheduled session for a full refund. Cancellations made within 24 hours will be subject to payment in full. Cancellation policies for recording sessions and music lessons vary based on the individual engineer’s or instructor’s policy. Please contact us directly if you need to make any changes to your reservation.
